The life and art of photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank are probed in this documentary from Laura Israel, who worked as an editor on many of Frank's late-career movies. Israel recounts the Swiss-born Frank's time as a member of New York City's photography elite in the 1940s and '50s, as well as his work as the director of several groundbreaking documentary films.
