Who is Rovi?

Rovi is the company that we work for and who bought All Media Guide a couple years ago. Rovi helps you discover and enjoy the entertainment you love, whether listening to a song that inspires you, or watching an action movie that leaves your heart racing. Rovi connects you with entertainment that you enjoy the most. On the road. On the go. To find out how we do what we do, visit roviworld.com.

What is the value of registering with AllMovie? Why would I create a login and password?

By creating an account with us, youĂll have the opportunity to "Favorite" your favorite movies and filmmakers, as well as being able to rate movies (1 star for something you hated, 5 stars for something you loved).

I've rated some movies and favorited some people. In the words of Edwin Starr: what is it good for?

Rating movies and marking filmmakers and actors as your "Favorites" all factor into giving you personalized recommendations for more movies you may be interested in. There are so many films out there, it can be difficult to wade through it all to find the stuff worth checking out. By letting us know some of your likes and dislikes, we can start offering suggestions in the Recommendations For You section.

Additionally, if you are a registered user, you can set your Genre Preferences to see information about New Releases (in theaters and on DVD) in specific genres.

In the upcoming months we plan to have lots of additional features and functionalities like providing you with notifications on the site when your favorite actors or filmmakers are releasing movies, storing your preferences for your favorite streaming movie providers and much more.

I'd like to see what I've rated or marked as a favorite, where can I do that?

As of now, you'll need to click on your name in the upper right corner (if you're logged in), and then look at the information on those pages.

Why are there ads on the site?

AllMovie is a free site that relies on ad revenue in order to help keep the lights on. We're trying to keep the ads relevant to movie fans so that they don't seem too intrusive.

What is the difference between Movies and Releases?

Movies should be thought of as the "Work" and Releases should be thought of as the specific "Products" that are sold (like DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs). So something like the filmed work "Citizen Kane" that came out in theaters in 1941 would be a "Movie" and the "80th Anniversary Boxed Set" DVD version that came out and was available on store shelves would be a "Release".

What about TV information?

People who know Rovi may know about our TV information and may be wondering where it is on AllMovie. We do have some TV information focused around DVD releases of TV series and we also have a cool sister site called Sidereel that allows you to find and watch TV shows as well as getting more info on when shows are airing.

You know what would be cool on the site? This thing I just thought of. How can I submit a feature request for something I'd like to see on AllMovie?

Feature requests or any feedback can be sent here or by following us and posting your idea on Facebook.

I noticed something is missing. How can I submit a correction?

Corrections links are available in the left sidebar on person and movie pages. We place a very high value on information from our users and we make every effort to review corrections and additional information submissions. We appreciate the time you take to send this information to us, but due to the immense volume of correspondence we receive, we are unable to directly respond to most of your submissions.

Please be assured that we are working hard to process your corrections, however it can take a bit of time for your submitted information to appear on our site. Rovi prides itself on accuracy, so please include your information source in your submission.

Can I submit a DVD or Movie information to you so it will show up on the site?
