Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
In Dakar, a group of construction workers make the choice to abandon their work on a contemporary sky-scraper in response to employer mistreatment, including months of withheld wages. The group then takes to the sea, seeking better opportunities as they leave Senegal. At the heart of the narrative are lovers Souleiman (Traore) and Ada (Mame Bineta Sane) who must contend with Ada's betrothal to another man. Written and directed by Mati Diop.
