Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Love Letters from a Children's Prison collaborators David Kinsella and writer/researcher Anna Sirota offer a glimpse into the plight of aspiring ballerinas at Russia's prestigious Perms Order of Honor Choreographic School as they strive for perfection on the dance floor and attempt to maintain their composure despite bleeding feet and vitriolic instructors. Chief among the young girls is sensitive adolescent Oksana Skorik, an anorexic dancer competing against roughly 500 other girls for one of the thirty available spots in the academy.
