Former dancer Serene Meshel-Dillman's documentary Getting to the Nutcracker captures the blood, sweat, and tears that go into the Marat Daukayev School of Ballet staging a production of the venerable holiday ballet The Nutcracker. The film follows the production from its earliest stages, through the heartbreaking casting process, through the rehearsals and the set construction, and right up through the debut performance.
