"Set in 19th century Vietnam, May (Nguyen Phuong Tra My), a 14-year-old rural girl, learns she is to marry Hung (Long Le Vu) an older, rich landowner. She will be the third wife and there is pressure for her to produce a son for her husband. But May sees temptation all around her as she struggles with finding her identity, purpose, and voice in this historical fictional tale of duty and acceptance.
