Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
In rural Minnesota, Tammy Faye (Jessica Chastain) and her husband, Jim (Andrew Garfield), yearn to inspire others with their religion and upbeat attitudes, hoping to create a force of change across America. The husband and wife duo develop a religious broadcasting network, ushering bright and vivid televangelism into the 1980s. However, rumors of sexual misconduct, romantic rivals, and poor financial choices force their meteoric rise to stutter and stall, pushing the couple and their messaging into infamy.
