Synopsis by Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, this epic German drama follows the life of a young German artist Kurt Barnett (Tom Schilling) as he tries to move on from the state-ordered murder of his mentally ill aunt by a soon-to-be SS doctor, Professor Carl Seeband (Sebastian Koch). After falling in love with Ellie (Paula Beer), the daughter of that same doctor, he realizes his childhood will always haunt him whilst the Nazi’s reign. Music by Max Richter.
