Synopsis by Jack Rodgers
This biopic of Portland cartoonist John Callahan (Joaquin Phoenix) details how he found new purpose in life after his alcoholism led to a serious car crash that left him a quadriplegic. Along the way, he receives help from his AA sponsor (Jonah Hill) and develops a tender relationship with a caring physical therapist (Rooney Mara). Jack Black co-stars. Directed by Gus Van Sant.
