You Resemble Me, directed by Dina Amer, is a dramatization of the life of Hasna Aït Boulahcen and an exploration of what created the world's first female suicide bomber. Using over 300 hours of interviews, the director has pieced together the broken life of a broken person. As a child, Hasna used to protect her sister in their abusive home. When they were torn apart, Hasna had to create her own identity after falling through the cracks of society. Poverty, discrimination, and abuse all lead to radicalization and, finally, destruction.
