Synopsis by Jinko Labitag

It is 1977, and NASA is hard at work in recruiting astronauts, scientists, and engineers for their Space Shuttle Program. When no one seems to be interested, Nichelle Nichols, an actress most notable for playing Lt. Uhura in Star Trek, steps in and asks, “Where are my people?” Woman in Motion is a documentary film that centers on Nichols’ monumental national PR blitz that resulted in the recruitment of 8,000 of the U.S.’ best and brightest and first African-American, Latino, and Asian astronauts—men and women—to fly in space. Directed by Todd Thompson.
