Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Starring the weather-beaten Franklin Farnum, this silent comedy Western featured a gang of outlaws terrorizing the local ranchers into paying for protection, gangster-style. The leader of the gang, known only as the Wolf (William Lester), is posing as a seemingly kind rancher. The owner of the El Fanita Rancho, Dick Donaldson (Farnum), refuses to play ball, however, and begins a campaign to bring the gang to justice. Wolves of the Border was produced by Poverty Row entrepreneur Phil Godstone and directed by the prolific Alvin J. Neitz, a writer/director who also worked under the name Alan James.
