A reckless, free-spirited teenage girl experiences some life-changing discoveries about herself and the world around her after befriending a drifter in the Alaskan wilderness in this coming-of-age drama. With her troubled mother in rehab, Mackenzie (Ella Purnell) escapes the home of her abusive uncle (Brian Geraghty) in Juneau, and begins to travel throguh the Alaskan wilderness before meeting Bartlett (Bruce Greenwood), a backpacking loner who would like to remain that way. Eventually, however, the two unlikely friends strike up a rapport, as Bartlett helps his precocious friend survive in the dangerous, unforgiving outdoors.
