Synopsis by Mark Deming
Filmmaker Jan de Bruin crafts an unusual portrait of a pair of policemen in this short documentary. Two Italian peace officers are standing on a sidewalk as they wait for a motorcade to pass that features several famous individuals. However, at first we see only the cops and not their surroundings, and it's not until their boredom starts to set in that we find out what they're doing. Waiting for Felipe was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
