Synopsis by Olivia Cantor
In the early 1980s, fierce dictator Nicolae Ceausescu tightened control over an unstable and fractured Romania, preying on the peoples' vulnerabilities to bolster his power. In protest of Ceausescu's oppression, bold chalk graffiti began appearing across Romanian cities, inspiring the people to resist. Unbeknownst to Ceausescu's secret police, the art belonged to Mugur C?linescu (?erban Lazarovici), an ordinary and unsuspecting teenager determined to make a difference. Filmmaker Radu Jude directs this adaptation of the stage play created by Gianina C?rbunariu.
