Synopsis by Cammila Collar
This documentary takes a look at the 2006 South Dakota legislature's vote on a bill to criminalize abortion. Igniting one of the most divisive issues in public discussion, grassroots campaigns sprung up both to defend and to overturn the law, but it's the story of how the bill came up for debate in the first place that provides historic context for events that would eventually be repeated in other states.
