Synopsis by Nathan Southern
This feature-length English-language production from France tells the legendary saga of Tristan and Isolde - the basis of Richard Wagner's 1865 opera - in animated form, designed for young children. It opens in a magical land, where two individuals - the breathtakingly beautiful Princess Isolde and the courageous knight Tristan - meet and fall deeply in love. The sanctity of their romance is threatened by the evil Baron Ganelon, but a couple of magical friends - the sweet-natured fairy Teazle and the mischievous wood-sprite Puck - turn up to lend a hand.
