One wonderful summer in the life of two Greek boys on the isle of Chios provides the basis of this episodic drama. The year is 1960 and it is the summer before the rambunctious lads will enter the fifth grade. They have great fun and have many fine adventures that include a war with a nest full of enraged hornets, making fun of the village idiot, getting sick on stolen plums, and rescuing a lost dog.
