Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Grateful that he has saved her from drowning, Fanny Lawson (Alexandra Carlisle) marries handsome Stephen King (William A. Sheer), unaware that he is a notorious counterfeiter. But King soon proves to be a loutish, abusive husband, and to cap his mistreatment of Fanny he escapes to parts unknown, allowing her to take the rap for his crimes. While all this is going on, Fanny's former sweetheart John Cross (Frank Holland), a disgraced Canadian Mountie, joins the U.S. Marines and heads to the Philippines there to help put down the Moro uprising. By a bizarre coincidence, Fanny escapes from jail and ends up in Manila, where of course she is reunited with Cross. The mutual regeneration of hero and heroine is brought to full fruition when Cross confronts King and forces him to clear Fanny's good name. The Tides of Fate was based on The Creeping Tides, a novel by Kate Jordan.
