Review by Adam Bregman

The premise isn't bad: night terrors being real creatures that drag off children in the middle of the night. But They doesn't succeed at all in making this should-be-very-scary concept scary at all. The creatures which mostly appear near the end of the film are computer-generated, monkey-like monsters and they look fake and are no scarier than Gremlins. They is also paced slowly, and though it's not longer than an hour and a half, it takes forever for Julia Lund (Laura Regan) to realize that her night terrors are real. Regan admirably does the best she can trapped in this film with no script and no clue. She's a babe who seems better suited to a romantic comedy than a horror flick. The rest of the acting ranges from bad to really bad, the only comic relief being Julia's boyfriend Paul's deadbeat roommates, who are not the slightest bit funny. Some humor or something truly scary might have enlivened (though probably not) what has to be one of the worst films of 2002.
