Synopsis by Mark Deming
A household looking for extra space for their guests has come up with a novel solution in this short documentary. In the Georgian Caucasus Mountains, a military transport helicopter lost control and crashed, and the wreckage remains there to this day. However, a family living nearby has found a way to put the helicopter's fuselage to good use -- they use it as a guest cottage for visitors staying overnight, and the family gives filmmaker Salome Jashi a tour of the accommodations. Their Helicopter was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
