Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
In the remote mountains of Japan's Kyoto Prefecture, an isolated village of just 47 souls farms the rugged landscape. Over the course of 14 months and enduring five seasons, one family experiences love, loss, and a feeling of hope as their days meld together in their unique, timeless existence. As the family's lives unfold amidst the sweeping mountains, the striking fragility and vulnerability of the human condition come to light. Co-directed by C.W. Winter and Anders Edström.
