Trudi (Trudi Petersen) makes the best of her dull life in Halifax by playing in a punk rock band called The Vacant Lots. She has a day job at the city library. There, she meets a lonely 60's has-been, guitarist David (rant Fullerton). They gradually become friendly, and when Trudi breaks her arm, she asks David to fill in for her with the band. The formerly feminist band goes on the road with Trudi and her friend, and a strange time is had by all.
