Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Wealthy William Owens (Thomas Santschi) takes advantage of poor girl Madge Fields (Edith Johnson), and when she becomes pregnant he deserts her. Nellie, a Salvation Army worker (Bessie Eyton), comes to the aid of Madge and her child. On Christmas Eve she tracks down Owens, who is celebrating at a cafe with his friend Horace Johnson (Guy Oliver) and several other revelers. Nellie refuses the drink they offer her and proceeds to lecture them on the true meaning of Christmas. Owens imagines himself back in Biblical times, tempted on one hand by his pals, and offered salvation on the other by Nellie. He wakes up to his responsibility towards Madge, and lets Nellie lead him to her. Although this picture had the Yuletide as its backdrop, it was actually released in April, 1916.
