Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Ann Rutherford, who costarred with Red Skelton in the "Whistling" comedy-mystery films of the early 1940s, appears in this October 21, 1958 edition of Skelton's weekly variety show. In the comedy sketch "Freddie and the Election," hoboes Freddie (Red) and Muggsy (Maxie Rosenbloom) show up in the local councilman's office to complain about living conditions in the City Dump. Through the aggressive efforts of a political campaigner (Ann), Freddie ends up running against the councilman in the upcoming election.
