Having unsuccessfully tested a one-hour format in the summer of 1954, Red Skelton returned to his standard half-hour timeslot on September 28 of that year. The opening episode of Red's fourth TV season was telecast live from New York, though all future programs would emanate from Hollywood. In addition to offering his usual monologue and character sketches, Red paid host to the Szonys, a dancing group.
