The troubled son of a celebrated filmmaker finds that his best friend may be his worst enemy while attempting to break through to his distant father. Back in 1989, director Dustin Carver scored a box office hit with a thriller that swept the nation. Now, 25 years later, a rash of murders seemingly inspired by the film leaves the authorities baffled. Meanwhile, shaken by a close friend's recent suicide, Dustin's drug addicted son Jacob (Brian Borello) moves back in with his father, and begs forgiveness. Unfortunately for Jacob, Dustin remains cold and distant. Desperate, Justin seeks to produce a film that will tell his side of the story, enlisting the aid of his best friend Richie (Linc Hand) to seek financing. When that leads to murder, Detective Michaels (Dennis L.A. White) and Detective Rios (Samantha Esteban) single out Jacob as their prime suspect. Little does unsuspecting Jacob realize that the one person he trusts most may also be the one who's determined to see him suffer.
