As far as we recall, The Mouthpiece (1932) was a pretty nifty little courtroom drama starring that wolf-in-sheepskin Warren William. In contrast, the remake, re-titled The Man Who Talked Too Much, arrives as a routine potboiler at best and with a leading man, George Brent, who is passable but not in a league with William. In fact, the Warner Bros. stock company had lost some of their indomitable spirit by 1940 and The Man Who Talked Too Much is the poorer for it.
