Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
The members of a dysfunctional family living in a small Russian town on the river Volga all come to terms with the crosses they have to bear in co-directors Katya Grokhovskaya and Peter Stepin's poignant tale of intertwining destinies. The aging mother of the clan has recently discovered that she is terminally ill, and the father -- a former military man -- has been engaged in an extended conflict with his son. While at first it appears that the two daughters have found happiness and success, a closer look reveals that their lives are steeped in loneliness.
