Synopsis by Steve Blackburn

Is it love or just sex? What biological function does romantic love serve? Originally televised on The Learning Channel, this is the third of six videos from the Emmy Award-nominated series based on the book The Human Sexes: A Natural History of Man and Woman by Desmond Morris. Morris also wrote and hosted this series examining the sexuality of humanity through biology, psychology, and culture. This episode looks at the similarities and differences between sexual mores and practices found in cultures across the globe. Highlights include a tour of one of the legal brothels in Nevada and a profile of a Turkish sultan with a harem containing hundreds of women. Note: the series contains some nudity.
