The ninth entry in Gene Autry's initial television series, The Posse is notable mostly for a late appearance by Francis Ford, the older brother of John Ford and a leading star of the early silent era. Ford is his usually scruffy self and although septuagenarian appears to be having a whale of a time pummeling much younger supporting actor John Doucette in the climactic fistfight. Autry had used the general idea of Damon Runyon's Lady for a Day in a previous feature western, 1938's Western Jamboree.
