Synopsis by Mark Deming

Les Falco is something of a self-made man, someone who grew up poor in the East End of London and was determined to have a better life than his father. Falco took what seemed to him a reasonable path to wealth and power -- organized crime. Falco has enjoyed a profitable career as a gangster, and he and several of his friends and associates talk about their lives outside the law in The End, a documentary directed by his daughter Nicola Collins and produced by her sister Teena Collins. In The End, Falco and his fellow villains speak frankly about their lower-class upbringing, how crime seemed a natural path to success, the nuts and bolts of life in the violent society of London's underworld, their personal code of conduct, and their brushes with the authorities. The first behind-the-camera project for the Collins Sisters, who previously enjoyed careers as models and actresses, The End received its world premiere at the 2008 Rotterdam Film Festival.
