Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Robert Shaw stars in this taped-in-England psychological spellbinder. The plot involves two identical twins, former inmates of a mental institution. The unbalanced pair are hired to commit a contract killing. The plan, of course, is for each twin to provide an airtight alibi for the other. Robert Shaw's costar in The Break is his real-life wife, Mary Ure. Unlike most presentations of ABC's Wide World Mystery, which generally ran 90 minutes, The Break is on and off the TV screen in a single hour.
