Synopsis by Cecilia Cygnar

This documentary, part of the 20th Century With Mike Wallace series from CBS News and the History Channel, takes a look at the private sides to the very public American presidents. Narrated by series host and CBS News correspondent Mike Wallace, this episode uses the President Bill Clinton scandal as a springboard to head back in time, looking at the secret love lives of the past U.S. presidents of the 20th century. Some of the scandals revealed involved Grover Cleveland, Andrew Jackson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy, among others. 20th Century With Mike Wallace features an exclusive interview with White House correspondent Walter Trohan, who covered FDR's years in office, and talks about what was kept private and what was made public. There are also interviews with media members and journalists who speculate on the pros and cons of revealing the private sides to these highly public figures.
