The Royal Danish Opera and stage director Kasper Holten team up for this December 2009 production of [$Richard Wagner}'s Tannhäuser, which interprets the opera as an expression of the collision between art and love. It stars Stig Andersen in the title role, Tina Kiberg as Elisabeth, Susanne Resmark as Venus, Stephen Milling as Hermann, Tommi Hakala as Wolfram von Eschenbach and Peter Lodahl as Walther von der Vogelweide. The Royal Danish Opera Chorus and The Royal Danish Orchestra lend musical accompaniment with Philip White serving as chorus master and Friedemann Layer conducting.
