Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This documentary takes a closer look at two interconnected phenomena which at first glance may seem incompatible: trees and fire. It is the story of the long leaf pine of the Southeastern coastal plain and how it depends upon fire for its survival. Geared for school-age children, the program presents the history of fires in the long leaf pine forests and how they have improved the strength and diversity of the habitat.
