Review by Clarke Fountain

This music/concert film is not as professionally done as might be wished. Despite the fact that it offers footage of some extraordinary rock musicians of the mid-to-late '60s in their European concerts, the sound is often not from the concert itself, but from the performers' original recordings. In those clips, the result looks like very bad dubbing. A lot of the footage is in black-and-white, and all of it was shot on 16 mm film stock, which has a tendency to look very grainy when shown on a full-sized movie theater screen. Perhaps its historical value, rather than its entertainment content, will engage viewers more. One well-filmed performance is of John Lennon singing "Instant Karma," backed by the Plastic Ono Band. Other performers featured include Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and Ike and Tina Turner.
