Rather naive and simplistic from a Western point of view, this routine drama by director Sang Okk Shin is set in the 18th century when the hierarchy in Korean society was even more entrenched. A nobleman who is not as fettered by social restrictions as his peers, falls in love with a woman beneath him in the clear-cut social scale. He means to act on his feelings for the woman no matter what, but suddenly finds an evil competitor has entered the picture. Unless the nobleman gets in gear soon, the villain will remain two steps ahead of him and seduce the low-born woman with nothing but evil intent.
