Documentary filmmaker Reginald Hudlin takes a deep dive into the life and legacy of groundbreaking actor Sidney Poitier. Born to Afro-Bahamian farmers, Poitier rose to prominence throughout the 1950s and 1960s, securing starring roles alongside Hollywood heavyweights such as Paul Newman. A force in his own right, Poitier earned the Oscar award for Best Actor in 1964, the first African-American man in history to do so, paving the way for generations of performers who followed. Featuring perspectives from Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, and Oprah Winfrey.
