A 16-year-old black girl is run down by a car and killed shortly after leaving a party in Brentwood attended mostly by rich, white kids, including Sebastian's daughter Julie. Sebastian fears a racial war could break out over the crime. The investigation reveals the victim and most of the partygoers attended the same prep school and that the dead girl was apparently seeing her best friend's boyfriend behind her back.
