Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx

At her gallery's opening for Baird (Donovan Leitch), a photographer known for his portraits of drag kings, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) meets the photographer, who wastes no time in asking her to pose for him. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) encounters some gender issues of her own when Sean (Eddie Cahill), the fun twentysomething she is currently dating, reveals to her that he has dated men as well as women. Although they end up sleeping together, Carrie finds herself wondering whose company Sean truly prefers. Meanwhile, Samantha (Kim Cattrall) has a new assistant (Chris Tardio) who, despite being of the aesthetically pleasing variety, vexes her with his inability to take orders. Tired of his refusal to do what she asks, Samantha asserts both her public and private supremacy by firing Matt and then sleeping with him. For her part, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) finds her household supremacy challenged after Steve (David Eigenberg) moves in and proceeds to make a slob of himself. And Charlotte and Carrie's gender conundrums find eventual resolution: Charlotte's when she poses for Baird and is so happy with her drag look that she ends up bedding the photographer, and Carrie's when she kisses another woman while attending a party with Sean and decides she's just too old-fashioned for that sort of scene.
