Synopsis by Rob Ferrier
Narrated by Ben Kingsley, each installment in the Religions of the World series offers an in-depth investigation into the practices and theology of a major world religion. Through interviews with experts, examination of artifacts, and dramatic reenactments, the major facets of these faiths are brought to light and explicated. In this particular video, the religions of small societies are examined, including that of the Ainu of northern Japan and some Native American tribes. How these communities manage to sustain their beliefs in the face of an ever-encroaching modern world is the focus of this video.
