This low-budget program picture was the silent era version of a women's film. Babette Corbin (Myra Murray) lives a privileged existence in which she has everything but her husband's love. She is ripe for an affair, and when she sees a photo in an art magazine of George Cameron, a handsome painter (Leslie Austin), she decides to pursue him. She takes her husband's niece, Florence (Jane Thomas), on a vacation and finds Cameron in the country. Soon Babette is embroiled in a romance with Cameron, who she lavishes with gifts. But she isn't the only one who falls for Cameron's charms -- Florence becomes infatuated with him too, and a young country girl, Joy Ayers (Helen McDonald), also loves him. Finally Babette's husband hears talk of the affair and comes down to investigate. Babette tries to convince him that it is Florence who is involved with Cameron, but he figures out the truth. Florence, despondent because she can not win Cameron's love, drowns herself. Ultimately, Babette realizes that she has caused nothing but misery and Cameron proposes to Joy.
