Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The scene is Hungary of the 1860s, when robber captains and highwaymen held the country in thrall. Anna (Maria Lazar) the heroine, owns a roadside inn which the bandits use as their hideout. Anna's heart is torn between two lovers: Robber chieftain Ustodi (Frederick Kiss) and handsome young police officer Istvan Bors (Paul Javor). While defending Anna's honor in a brawl, Istvan is led to believe that he's killed a man, so he joins Ustodi's band of brigands. It is now up to Anna to rescue her beloved Bors -- and the only way she can do this is by betraying Ustodi. Puzstai Szel (Storm of the Plains) was based on a play by Sandor Hunyady.
