Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Hillaire Latour (J. Warren Kerrigan) is a French Canadian trapper who decides to become a lumberman when he sees the amounts of money they earn. He marries his sweetheart Rosalie (Lois Wilson) and heads off to make enough money so that they can set up housekeeping. While he is away, Rosalie has a baby, and Hillaire is eager to return, but he gets waylaid in a dance hall by the scheming Louise (Claire DuBrey, famous for her vamp roles). She cheats him out of all his money, and he has to go back to the camp once again to build up his nest egg. But apparently he hasn't learned his lesson because once he gets the money together again, the same thing happens -- once more Louise charms the cash out of him. The whole scenario almost happens a third time, but finally Hillaire angrily grabs Louise around the throat and makes her return the money. Finally, he gets to go home to his wife and child. Besides the silly plot, this film was also hampered by the titles -- in a vain attempt for authenticity, they were written in a bizarre phonetic spelling of upper Quebec patois, making them difficult to follow.
