After growing up on the hard streets of the city, Darnell Jackson convinces his friend Terry Lavelle that they should skip college and join the military. But when things don't go as planned while they're helping the Ukranian people against Russia, Darnell returns to Chicago. If he thought military life was hard, it doesn't compare to the struggles of returning to a hate-filled city with a corrupt mayor where everything seems stacked against him.
