Although it comes with plenty of graphic violence, quite a bit of adult talk and some fancy camera angles, Overland Pacific is still an old-fashioned B-Western at heart, right down to employing that age-old bromide of renegade whites supplying repeating rifles to the "injuns." But former Columbia and Warner Bros. stunt man Jock Mahoney makes a fine hero and Peggie Castle remains one of era's the most alluring prairie flowers. Unfortunately, the cheap color process, by something called the Color Corporation of America, makes viewing of non-restored and washed-out prints a less than exhilarating experience.
