Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx
Shot in black-and-white and set in a Glasgow tenement, One Life Stand is the story of Trise (Maureen Carr), a single mother trying to raise her 18-year-old son John Paul (John Kielty). Trise loves her son but spoils him, and dreams of his future as a supermodel. Taking a job as a tarot card chat line reader in order to support her son, Trise has her dreams shattered when she discovers that he is not working as a model, but rather as a male escort. When John Paul falls in love with an older woman, Trise tries to win him back, but finds this is easier hoped for than accomplished.
