This unique, sprawling classical concert was mounted at the Musikverein in Vienna on January 1, 2009, to commemorate the advent of the New Year. Daniel Barenboim conducts the Wiener Philharmoniker, in an array of interpretations of classical pieces, including Annen-Polka by Johann Strauss II, Valse espagnole by Joseph Hellmesberger II, and a finale by Josef Hayden that includes the pieces Abschiedssymphonie and Symphonie Les Adieux.
