Synopsis by Alice Day

The preservation of African rainforests is not a simple issue. While it is recognized that continued logging and plundering of natural resources is detrimental to the ecology of the continent, the income from some of these activities enables residents to have a better standard of living. Africa, Pt. 3: Rainforest looks at the Baka of Cameroon, who have depended on the rainforest for their survival, and a coffin maker in Ghana, whose source for wood is the same rainforest. Actions that will benefit one will cause harm to the other.
